What's the best furniture polish to use on an antique oak end table?

I usually use pledge on my furniture, but I don't want to wreck this little table as it was my great great grandmother's.

You really shouldn't use Pledge because it has silicone. From what I understand silicone permanently enters the wood and effects the way the wood functions. I think it prevents it from expanding and contracting but I'm not really sure.

Plus, it will leave a milky film which would have to be professionally sanded away. Of course they would really have to know what their doing so they don't remove the original finish. It gets too complicated.

I have refinished some antique pieces and along the road and professionals have strongly recommended Guardsman. I find it at Bed Bath and Beyond. It does not have silicone and is what the professionals have used when they came to service any newly purchased furniture. I use it every other week and dry dust in between.

Hope this was helpful.
