I need help identifying an original oil painter?
In 1993 I bought a huge painting from haverty's furniture. it came with a certificate of authenticity that it is an original oil on canvas, by one painter from original sketches. it is victorian in nature showing two ladies and on young girl picking flowers in a garden. they are wearing winter victorian outerwear. the artist is simply signed "Andrews". the certificate is from the Prestige Arts, Ltd. out of Delaware 1992 on the gold seal. I am unable to find this company on the web which makes me think it is out of business. there is a reference number of the certificate. I would love to find out more about this artist and the painting. i am not sure if it is a reproduction of a famous painting. Can anyone help me learn more? thanks.
Lot of commercial places that hire artists to do paintings. One artist does one thing on a painting another a different. They pay artists per hour usually. The paintings get signed with generic english sounding names because that is where most of the paintings are sold. That practice is done in China a lot now.
